What is Ayurveda
Ayurveda (Sanskrit: Ayur=life / Veda=science) is a traditional medical health system that originated in India thousands of years ago. The main theory is about every human being consisting of three basic energies (general term: ' doshas ' ), which are called ' Vata ', ' itta ' and ' Kapha ' and that exist in all humans by birth. Our constitutions are based upon these energies and vary from one human to another. During our lives these energies get out of balance and that are the moments human are getting sick, into stress and just feel uncomfortable. Our body and mind as well as our soul are not in a well-balanced and good condition.
Ayurveda tries to bring these three energies into a balance through different methods, e.g. oil massages, yoga, meditation, constitution-type based nutrition and different medications. Its traditional way is based on pure natural treatment. Ayurveda is not only a curative medical system, it also helps to prevent several diseases or reduces different problems regarding health (mentally and bodily).
